Community Guidelines

Last updated: May 11, 2026

After Rehab's community is an anonymous, supportive space for people in recovery. These guidelines exist to keep it that way. By posting, commenting, or reacting, you agree to follow them. Repeated or serious violations can result in content removal or losing access to the community.

Our shared promise

  • Anonymous by default. Don't share your real name, photo, contact info, or another person's identity.
  • Supportive, not prescriptive. Share your experience. Don't give medical, legal, or clinical advice.
  • Honest and human. Wins, struggles, reflections, and milestones are all welcome — small moments matter.
  • Safety first. If someone is in crisis, point them toward crisis resources, not your opinion.

What's welcome

  • Honest reflections about recovery — including hard days.
  • Gratitude, milestones, and small wins.
  • Asking for support or sharing what's helped you.
  • Compassionate replies that meet people where they are.

What's not allowed

  • Promoting, sourcing, selling, or glorifying substance use.
  • Naming dealers, suppliers, dosages, or "how to use" instructions.
  • Harassment, hate speech, threats, or telling someone to harm themselves.
  • Sharing personal contact info — yours or anyone else's.
  • Spam, scams, recruitment, advertising, or repeated link-dropping.
  • Sexual content, graphic violence, or content targeting minors.
  • Impersonating staff, clinicians, or another member.

Talking about crisis and self-harm

It's okay to share that you're struggling — that's part of recovery. Please avoid graphic descriptions of methods or self-harm. If you're in immediate danger, use the resources on the Crisis page or contact local emergency services.

How moderation works

  • Automated checks block obvious harm (sourcing language, harassment, spam, excessive links) before posts go live.
  • Members can report posts or comments — reports are reviewed by our team.
  • Content that breaks these guidelines may be hidden or removed without notice.
  • We may limit posting or remove access for repeated or serious violations.

Reporting and feedback

See something that doesn't belong? Use the report option on any post or comment, or visit Report a Post. For ideas about the community itself, share feedback — anonymous if you want.

Privacy

Your posts are tied to a pseudonym, not your real identity. For full details on how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy. These guidelines work alongside our Terms of Service.

Thank you for helping make this a place where people can be honest and feel less alone.
